   Birth Doula

I am passionate about supporting parents-to-be in their journey through pregnancy and early days. I understand that all families have different approaches to how they would like their birthing day to unfold and appreciate and support all those decisions.

Your birth package includes:

  • Two Antenatal visits
  • Unlimited telephone and email support throughout your pregnancy
  • Loan of useful books, CDs and DVDs to use throughout your pregnancy for both you and your partner.
  • Hire of Elle TENS Machine
  • Hire of Professional Birthing Pool and equipment
  • On call 24/7 from your 38th week of pregnancy and up until you have your baby
  • Birth attendance - I will stay with you for the duration of your birthing day including up to 2hrs after
the birth to help you settle with your new arrival
  • 1 or 2 postnatal visits to see how you and baby are settling in together and offer you links to any further postnatal help you may require.

Cost; £200 (Trainee Doula fee - please see notes below)
Trainee doulas
A trainee has completed a Doula UK approved training course but has not acquired the level of experience necessary to be fully recognised. Their work is assessed by a Doula UK Assessor Mentor until they are fully recognised. Doula UK specifies that trainees charge no more than £200 for a birth.

Recognised doulas
A recognised doula has completed a Doula UK approved training course and has a minimum level of experience - normally four assessed births.

Claire says:
Since I started teaching antenatal classes in 2008 I have had the privilege of being invited by clients to be part of their birthing day. I have experienced births at home, in birthing centres and hospitals. I undertook my Doula training course with Nurturing Birth in April 2011 and I am now part of the Doula UK recognition programme.
